Occupational Therapist School Setting in Katy, TX
Step into a dynamic, full-time contract opportunity supporting students across a thoughtfully assigned zone within the Houston area. This position calls for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to work exclusively on-site for the academic year, making a meaningful impact from August 2026 to May 2027. Enjoy a set weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, operating from the district office as your home base before heading out to serve six to seven schools—each within coordinated proximity to your ZIP code.
Ideal candidates will bring experience in school-based or pediatric settings. Highly experienced COTAs are also encouraged to apply. The role involves providing services to a diverse caseload ranging in age from 3 to 21, with roughly 30-40 students receiving direct therapy on a rotating schedule, while the majority are consults. Responsibilities also include conducting evaluations, attending ARDs, keeping thorough documentation through SHARES school health and Onward software, and maintaining meticulous Excel records for IEPs.

- Full-time, consistent weekday hours (typically 8:00–4:00 or sometimes 7:30–3:30)
- No oversight of COTAs; you’ll lead therapy delivery
- Caseload management focused on consults and direct services (rarely weekly interventions)

Qualifications:
- Active Texas Occupational Therapy license
- Completion of state fingerprinting/background check
- Proficient with ARD processes, evaluations, and documentation
- Prior experience supporting students with diverse needs in educational settings
