Occupational Therapist School Setting - Kent, WA
Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist in a school-based setting near Kent, WA. This position offers the opportunity to work onsite throughout the full 26/27 school year, September through June, making a difference in both elementary and middle school environments. As the therapist for one school, you'll manage a caseload of approximately 41 students, providing essential services that foster student development and help remove barriers to learning.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapist License for Washington State (required)
- Experience in school-based occupational therapy settings is strongly preferred
- Ability to work with diverse student populations across both elementary and middle school levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Adept at providing individualized and group therapy sessions tailored to students’ needs
- Commitment to upholding ethical practice and maintaining thorough documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services onsite 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday)
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students’ participation and progress in the classroom
- Evaluate student outcomes and adjust interventions as necessary
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and district guidelines
