Exciting opportunity available for a dedicated occupational therapist seeking a short-term contract role near Kent, WA. This position offers the chance to work collaboratively within school settings, supporting students' unique needs and fostering their growth.
As a key member of the educational team, you’ll assess and support an assigned caseload, making a direct difference in students’ academic and daily lives. This contract is full-time (40 hours per week) with an immediate start date, lasting approximately 4 weeks. Your site location will be determined prior to your start date.
Key Qualifications:
- Current OSPI certification/licensure required
- Experience providing OT services in school-based environments
- Familiarity with IEP documentation and special education processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt materials and equipment to accommodate diverse learning needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students and establish individualized treatment plans in collaboration with educators and support staff
- Participate actively in special education evaluations, reevaluations, and IEP meetings
- Develop, implement, and monitor occupational therapy goals, supports, and accommodations
- Provide direct therapy and consultative services in both general and special education classrooms
- Maintain thorough documentation, including student records and evaluation reports
- Use progress monitoring data to inform and adapt therapy services
- Communicate effectively with families, teachers, paraeducators, and other staff
- Join required staff meetings and engage in ongoing professional development
