Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid occupational therapy license, eligible for school-based practice
- Previous experience in pediatric or school settings preferred
- Proven ability to conduct screenings, assessments, and deliver OT interventions for preschool-aged children
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with families, teachers, and IEP teams
- Comfortable adapting to new situations and fostering a positive learning atmosphere
- Willingness to support both consultative and hands-on service delivery
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and formal assessments as part of special education evaluations
- Participate as a valued team member in IEP meetings and planning processes
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans
- Deliver direct services in classroom and pull-out models
- Consult with educators and families, providing strategies and resources to promote student success
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and district protocols
Job Details and Scheduling:
- Contract role, serving a dedicated special education preschool program
- Initial need is 3 days per week (8:15am–3:45pm, preferred Tuesday–Thursday or Monday–Wednesday), with flexibility and potential to increase to full-time based on program needs
- Open-ended commitment until a permanent district hire is made
