School Occupational Therapist - Malaga, Washington
Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting early intervention for young learners in Washington! We are searching for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our school-based team on a contract basis, covering full-time hours (8 hours per day, Monday through Friday) starting as soon as possible this summer and continuing through the 2026-2027 school year. With a focus on birth to 3-year-old students, you'll play a vital role in early development and help set the foundation for lifelong learning and independence.
The caseload centers on early intervention, providing services across multiple school sites each week—so adaptability and enthusiasm for travel are important. Both experienced OTs and enthusiastic COTAs are encouraged to apply. The school is also open to splitting the role into two part-time positions, making this a flexible option for those seeking less than full-time hours.
Your background should include:
- State certification/licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience or strong interest in early intervention and pediatric populations, especially birth to age 3
- Familiarity with teletherapy tools and practices, especially for remote service delivery
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as needed
Key responsibilities:
- Assessing the developmental needs of infants and toddlers
- Creating and implementing individualized intervention plans
- Delivering therapy in both in-person and teletherapy formats as appropriate
- Supporting families and teachers to maximize student success
- Documenting progress and adapting approaches as needed
