School Occupational Therapist - Mechanicsville, Maryland
A contract opportunity awaits experienced Occupational Therapists interested in supporting students in the South End of the county for the upcoming academic year. This assignment begins August 10th, 2026, and continues through June 17th, 2027, offering full-time hours. There are two openings, providing the chance to make a meaningful impact across a diverse school-based caseload and collaborate with other professionals in a supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist license in Maryland
- Experience providing OT services in a school setting preferred
- Ability to assess student needs, develop treatment plans, and work collaboratively with educational staff and families
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering student growth, independence, and participation within the educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation of services, progress, and outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and team consultations as required
