Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current state OT licensure or eligibility for licensure
- School-based OT experience preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork encouraged to apply
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to adapt and tailor interventions to meet diverse student needs
- Flexibility to manage varied caseloads and multiple school sites if needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and create effective intervention plans
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student participation and performance in academic and social activities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports
- Offer guidance and resources to staff and families to support students’ motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and adaptive functioning
- Contribute to IEP meetings and participate in parent conferences as needed
- Stay current with best practices and continuing education within school-based OT
