Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Texas OT license
- Previous successful pediatric or school-based OT experience required (district highly values seasoned COTAs with multiple years in similar roles)
- Must not have worked for this school district before; candidates previously terminated from any school district are not eligible
- Fingerprinting and background check required (candidates with existing cleared fingerprints in the state database may expedite onboarding)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 70 students, focusing on 30–40 direct service cases; the rest will be consult-only
- Collaborate on evaluations, treatment plans, and ARD meetings
- Rotate students on various intervals (weekly, biweekly, every six weeks), with rare weekly frequency
- Independently conduct all treatment—there are no COTAs assigned
- Maintain compliant documentation via SHARES and Onward school health platforms, plus Excel logs for IEP tracking
- Hours: 37.5 per week; typical day is 8:00–4:00 or 7:30–3:30
