Step into an impactful opportunity supporting students across a diverse Houston-area district as a full-time school-based Occupational Therapist. In this contract role, you’ll engage with learners ages 3-21, conducting assessments, providing direct therapy and consultative services, and collaborating with ARD teams to help every student access their fullest potential.
As part of a highly coordinated itinerant team, you’ll work within an assigned area—meaning your commute is streamlined, with a home base at the district office and travel to 6-7 schools, thoughtfully aligned with your ZIP code. The caseload targets roughly 70 students, with a strong emphasis on consultation; around 30-40 students will receive your direct services on a rotating schedule. You’ll manage documentation through SHARES, Onward software, and keep logs for IEPs, empowering you to focus on treatments and positive outcomes.
What we’re looking for:
- Active Texas OT license
- In-depth school-based or pediatric OT experience; highly experienced COTAs in school settings are also welcome to apply
- State fingerprinting/background check clearance
- Confidence completing evaluations, maintaining records, and serving a wide age range (3-21)
- Ability to work independently, adapt to varying school environments, and communicate effectively with educators and families
- Please confirm you have never been a district employee and have not been terminated from any school district (an affidavit regarding this is required)
