This full-time contract opportunity begins August 11th, 2026, and extends through May 26th, 2027, serving a diverse student population aged 3 to 21 on the southwest side of Houston. Your expertise will impact children across 6-7 schools within a thoughtfully assigned zone, keeping your commute efficient and manageable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services, focusing on a manageable direct caseload of 30-40 students, with overall consult/caseload up to 70.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and actively participate in ARD meetings, collaborating with educators and support teams.
- Develop and track IEP goals, manage all documentation using SHARES, Onward, and Excel logs.
- Provide treatment and consultation—most direct services are on a rotating schedule, rarely weekly.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families and school personnel.
- Adapt efforts as lead OT, providing all direct and consultative services (no COTA support).
Required Qualifications:
- Active Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure.
- Previous pediatric and/or school-based OT experience (highly qualified COTAs with extensive schools or pediatric background will be considered).
- State-mandated fingerprinting/background clearance (possibly already on file).
- Ability to work on-site at multiple campuses within an assigned area.
- Willingness to complete an affidavit confirming you have never worked for the district before and have not been terminated from a prior district.
