School Occupational Therapist - Naperville, Illinois

In this position, you’ll enjoy the added support of a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), helping to implement therapeutic plans and maximize outcomes. Your week runs Monday through Friday, fostering consistency for both you and the students, with new challenges and triumphs at both grade levels.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active state licensure in Occupational Therapy for educational settings
- Strong background in pediatric therapy and developmentally appropriate practices
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Prior experience working in school environments or with school-aged children preferred
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs across elementary and high school populations
- Comfortable overseeing and guiding a COTA to optimize student service delivery
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ needs and establish individualized therapy plans
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in classroom and specialized settings
- Track progress and maintain thorough, up-to-date documentation in line with school requirements
- Collaborate closely with special education staff and contribute to IEP development and meetings
- Provide guidance and resources for families and educators to ensure carryover of strategies
