Occupational Therapist School Setting in Newark, NJ

You’ll work a consistent weekday schedule of 6.5 hours per day, five days a week, providing essential services to a total caseload of 59 students—divided between you and your colleague. With a start as soon as possible and the role extending through June of 2027, you will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships and make a meaningful difference throughout multiple school years.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in New Jersey
- School-based OT experience preferred, but new graduates with strong pediatric or education-focused clinicals are encouraged to apply
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and families
- Ability to adapt interventions to a wide range of student ages and needs (Preschool through 8th grade)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for students across a variety of ages and abilities
- Deliver therapy sessions in both individual and group settings to support students’ academic participation and functional skills
- Maintain required documentation in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate closely with school staff and parents
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
