Occupational Therapist School Setting - Oakland, OR
Take on an impactful contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting both Early Intervention (EI) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teams, serving infants and young children near Oakland, OR. In this dual-role position, you’ll split your time equally between the EI team and the ECSE (birth to three years) program. Your evaluation day comes once weekly, typically assessing up to three students, focusing on holistic, family-centered care. The remainder of your time will emphasize direct services for students and their parents, primarily in-home, with opportunities to support children in community settings or upon family request, at our dedicated EI building.
Key Qualifications:
- Current OT licensure with experience in school-based or pediatric settings
- Knowledge of Early Intervention, Early Childhood Special Education, and evidence-based OT strategies for birth to age three
- Proficiency with goal development, educational goal writing, and data collection
- Ability to engage families and caregivers in therapeutic activities and training
- Preparedness to provide services across various environments—homes, childcare programs, clinics, and community facilities
- Medicaid billing competency preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess and deliver OT services for young children and their families per individualized goals
- Conduct weekly evaluations (up to three students per day)
- Collaborate with families and early childhood teams for seamless service delivery
- Write educationally relevant goals and document progress
- Provide practical recommendations for goal development and ongoing support
