Occupational Therapist School Setting in Portales, NM

Key Qualifications:
- Active state Occupational Therapist license (required)
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is strongly preferred
- Strong assessment, intervention, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and other education professionals
- Excellent time management and adaptability to changing priorities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform screenings and assessments to determine students’ needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support student independence and academic access
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to set and achieve student goals
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services, including fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skill building
- Track and document progress while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of effective student plans
