Occupational Therapist School Setting in Poulsbo, WA
Make a real difference in student lives by supporting K-12 learners as an Occupational Therapist throughout the upcoming school year. This contract role offers the chance to provide hands-on, in-person therapy in a dynamic educational environment, working closely with students, teachers, and support staff to enhance students' development and participation in school activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Washington Occupational Therapist (OT) license, including ESA certification
- Must be fingerprinted through OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction)
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting is highly desirable
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Flexibility in grade band assignment, as it will depend on both your experience and the evolving needs of students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students in person according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ OT needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor goal-based intervention plans
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student success
- Provide training and support for classroom staff as needed
