Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Rhode Island (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in schools or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEPs, student assessments, and individualized intervention planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to determine students’ needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living tasks
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with school goals and student IEPs
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in classroom and specialized settings
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and parent conferences
- Train and support educational staff on strategies to integrate OT recommendations in the classroom
- Maintain thorough documentation and timely progress reports
- Stay current with best practices and regulations related to school-based occupational therapy
