Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This full-time position (37.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) involves serving two elementary schools near Racine, WI, and offering supervision for an Occupational Therapy Assistant at an additional location. With a manageable and cross-categorical caseload of 62 students, you’ll focus on fostering student independence and engagement in the school environment. The start is as soon as possible, with the assignment running through June 4, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist license for Wisconsin.
- Possess or be eligible for WI DPI OT certification.
- Background in school settings, especially with elementary-aged students.
- Experience or willingness to provide supervision to an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Strong communication skills and adaptability for working with diverse student needs.
- Reliable transportation for itinerant assignments between schools.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs within two elementary schools.
- Supervise and collaborate with an OTA who assists 2–2.5 days/week with the caseload.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized plans while closely collaborating with teachers and school staff.
- Utilize best practices to promote functional independence in academic and daily routines.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation aligned with district and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute meaningful observations and recommendations.
