Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time, school-based position in Gerber, CA for the upcoming school year. This role offers the opportunity to support a diverse student population while working alongside a virtual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in a collaborative educational setting.

The SLPA will provide services to students across multiple specialized programs, including extensive needs classrooms, Deaf and Hard of Hearing programs, preschool students, and general education populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP
  • Implement therapy plans and IEP goals developed by the supervising SLP
  • Work with students with a variety of communication needs, including speech, language, articulation, and social communication disorders
  • Support students using AAC devices and alternative communication systems
  • Collect therapy data and maintain accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success
  • Assist with progress monitoring and implementation of communication strategies in educational settings

Caseload Details

The SLPA will support students in:

  • TK–4 Extensive Needs Programs
  • TK–8 Regional Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program
  • State Preschool Programs
  • TK–8 Elementary Students
  • K–12 educational settings requiring speech and language support

Qualifications

  • Active California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) License
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree meeting California SLPA requirements
  • School-based, pediatric, or special education experience preferred
  • Experience with AAC devices, Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations, or special needs students is a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
