Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid OT licensure and credentials required for school-based services
- Prior experience with pediatric populations, preferably within home or school environments
- Expertise in working with children with multiple disabilities, including developmental delays, cerebral palsy, or hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)
- Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet profound support needs—both verbal and nonverbal, ambulatory and non-ambulatory
- Compassion, patience, and creativity in developing interventions for diverse, individualized needs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one occupational therapy sessions: 3x weekly (30 minutes/session) for a student with developmental delays and HIE, and 1x weekly (45 minutes) for a student with cerebral palsy and global delays
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans to promote fine and gross motor skills, daily living activities, and adaptive strategies tailored to each student’s abilities
- Address complex support requirements for nonverbal and non-ambulatory students
- Monitor and document progress, modifying interventions as necessary to maximize student outcomes
- Provide guidance and strategies to caregivers to support therapy goals in the home environment
