School Occupational Therapist | Reno, Nevada
Step into a rewarding school-based occupational therapy role supporting students near Reno, NV for the 2025/2026 academic year! This full-time contract opportunity allows you to collaborate closely with a diverse caseload of 50-55 students spread between elementary and secondary settings, working at one or two school sites within the district.
As part of this dynamic educational environment, you’ll assess and deliver therapy to help students access their educational curriculum more fully. You’ll conduct evaluations, collaborate on IEPs, and communicate closely with educational staff and families, all while utilizing the district’s IEP system—with training provided to ensure your success. Indirect time for administrative tasks and paid meetings is built in, and you’ll be supported by district leadership.
Qualifications:
- Current NV Occupational Therapy license (required)
- Previous experience with school-based OT or pediatric caseloads strongly preferred
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and documenting individualized therapy plans
- Adept at adapting interventions for students from elementary to high school levels
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites as needed
- Willingness to participate in virtual or onsite interviews
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students per IEP requirements
- Complete evaluations, progress reports, and participation in IEP meetings
- Effectively manage a caseload of up to 55 students
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
- Document sessions and report on student progress
- Contribute to a positive, student-centered school culture
