Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, providing vital support to students across all grade levels, K-12. Conveniently located near Reserve, LA, this full-time role runs from now through late May 2027. As an itinerant OT, you’ll work onsite, collaborating with educators and families to address the diverse needs of a caseload of approximately 75-100 students. Your expertise will help ensure students have the tools and strategies necessary for a positive educational experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapy State License required
- Demonstrated experience with school-based OT services, specifically supporting K-12 students
- Ability to effectively manage a moderate to large caseload with varying needs
- Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate across teams and settings
- Flexibility to travel between sites as an itinerant OT
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students according to IEP goals and district standards
- Complete thorough evaluations and timely written reports to monitor progress
- Consult regularly with educators, support staff, and caregivers
- Provide training and resources to teachers and parents, ensuring carryover of strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for each student on your caseload
- Travel as needed during the 8:00 AM–4:00 PM workday to support multiple grade levels across locations
