Embark on a rewarding full-time contract role supporting students across the Houston metro area as a School-Based Occupational Therapist. This position offers the unique experience of serving a diverse population, with students ranging in age from 3 to 21. The position is based out of the district office and covers a specific zone of 6 to 7 schools to help shorten your commute, with assignments made according to your ZIP code.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and participate in ARDs.
- Manage a balanced caseload (approximately 70 students, with 30–40 receiving direct services on a rotating schedule).
- Provide primarily treatment services to students, with consultative and direct therapy as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation using SHARES and Onward software, as well as Excel for IEP tracking.
- Work independently, serving as the lead OT within your assigned schools.
- Collaborate with educational teams to support student growth and participation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Texas Occupational Therapy license required.
- Experience in pediatric or school-based OT strongly preferred; highly skilled COTAs with extensive school/pediatric experience may be considered.
- Must have no previous employment or termination from the district (affidavit required).
- Completion of a state-mandated fingerprinting/background check is required; existing prints may be applicable.
- Ability to work full-time (37.5 hours/week) with schedule typically 8 am – 4 pm or 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.
- Proficient with digital documentation systems.
