Occupational Therapist School Setting in Rillito, AZ

Make a meaningful impact by providing essential occupational therapy services to students with unique needs. This contract opportunity involves working across two school sites and supporting learners from elementary through high school. You will deliver therapy to students in K-6 and 9-12, primarily serving those in self-contained classrooms with significant cognitive and adaptive challenges. Some supervision of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is also required, offering an excellent leadership component to your work.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Arizona
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based settings, especially with students with significant cognitive and adaptive needs
- Comfortable supervising and collaborating with a COTA
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork with educators, support staff, and families
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to fostering student independence and participation in school activities
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions for students in K-6 and 9-12 self-contained classrooms
- Assess students’ strengths, needs, and progress, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans
- Work at two school locations, supporting both elementary and high school populations
- Supervise and consult with the on-site COTA to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Document sessions, progress, and outcomes according to school and district guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to promote students’ access to learning and life skills
