Exciting opportunity for a dedicated occupational therapist to work in a supportive educational environment near Rochester, MI. This is a full-time contract position running from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour work week. You’ll have the chance to support students from kindergarten through age 26, collaborating closely with school teams to foster student success and independence.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Michigan Occupational Therapy (OT) license (please provide a screenshot of licensure with your application)
- Previous experience working within a school setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and students
- Strong skills in evaluation, intervention planning, and documentation
- Passion for fostering skill development in students with diverse needs
- Must fulfill onsite work requirements; remote work is not available for this role
- COTAs will not be considered for this position
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized intervention plans for students from kindergarten through age 26
- Collaborate with educational staff to integrate OT activities into classroom routines and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver direct therapy and monitor progress, adjusting plans as needed
- Document interventions and maintain accurate reports in line with school and state guidelines
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel to ensure supportive environments
