Step into a dynamic school-based Occupational Therapy position where you’ll provide essential support to students between the ages of 3 and 21. This full-time, on-site contract role begins August 11, 2026, and runs through May 26, 2027, and is ideal for professionals passionate about making a positive difference in a school environment. You’ll serve a caseload averaging 70 students (with approximately 30–40 receiving direct therapy services), ensuring vital consultative and hands-on support within a thoughtfully assigned local zone, minimizing your commute between 6-7 campuses. Use the district office as your central hub and enjoy a variety of responsibilities focused on student success.
Core Qualifications:
- Active Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license in good standing
- Successful completion of a state fingerprinting/background check
- Extensive experience in school-based or pediatric settings required; highly experienced COTAs are welcome to apply
- Comfortable conducting evaluations, maintaining documentation in SHARES and Onward, and managing an Excel IEP log
- Excellent communication skills for participating in ARD meetings and supporting diverse student needs
- Must not have previously been employed by, or terminated from, the specified district or any school district (affidavit required)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and prioritize a caseload with a mix of consult-only and direct therapy services
- Deliver tailored OT interventions across multiple campuses in your assigned area
- Document services promptly and accurately using provided school health software
- Maintain a flexible rotating schedule to best serve students' needs, with typical hours between 8:00 am–4:00 pm
