Exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist seeking a full-time, contract position in a supportive educational environment! You’ll have the chance to work onsite in the Houston area (Southwest side of the city), providing vital services across 6-7 schools within a commutable zone based on your ZIP code. This contract runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with hours totaling 37.5 per week—full time only.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Texas OT license required
- Experience with school-based or pediatric caseloads
- Open to highly qualified COTAs with significant school or pediatric experience
- State fingerprinting and background check required
- Must not be a former employee of the school district or previously terminated from a school district
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable commuting within an assigned area and maintaining accurate records
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 70 students, with direct services for 30-40 and the remainder on a consultative basis
- Serve students ages 3-21, conducting evaluations and attending ARDS
- Lead responsibility for all assigned OT cases, as no COTA support will be provided
- Maintain required documentation using SHARES school health software, Onward, and Excel logs for IEPs
- Use district office as a home base, driving to assigned schools as needed
- Collaborate with educational teams and families to provide high-quality occupational therapy in a school setting
- Adhere to all compliance, reporting, and documentation standards
