Qualifications and Desired Background:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Experience working in school settings, preferably with elementary-aged children
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for diverse learners
- Collaborative mindset to work alongside educators, parents, and support staff
- Exceptional communication, organization, and recordkeeping skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ motor, sensory, and functional needs within the school environment
- Develop and implement tailored interventions to address students’ unique challenges and promote independence
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing professional insights and documentation
- Provide direct therapy services with a focus on daily living, fine/gross motor skills, sensory regulation, and adaptive strategies
- Consult with teachers and families to support effective classroom modifications and home strategies
- Monitor progress, maintain detailed records, and adjust intervention plans as needed
