Occupational Therapist School Setting in Schoolcraft, MI
Make a difference in the lives of students as a contract Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting K-12 learners in a dynamic school-based environment. Your role will focus on providing expert guidance and interventions to help students develop essential motor skills, adapt to classroom tasks, and access their learning environments more fully. You'll work on an engaging campus full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, serving children and teens across a wide range of developmental stages.
Key qualifications:
- Active Michigan OT or COTA license required
- Experience in pediatric or school-based settings strongly preferred
- Commitment to professional collaboration and evidence-based practice
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Adaptable, proactive, and patient-centered approach
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing students’ needs and developing personalized treatment plans
- Delivering direct therapy services to support academic and functional skills
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and other specialists to ensure student progress
- Maintaining accurate documentation to track interventions and outcomes
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to educational planning
- Promoting safe, inclusive learning environments
