This is a rewarding contract opportunity providing full-time support to a diverse group of learners in an educational setting. You’ll work closely with students ages kindergarten through 26, helping them build the skills necessary for greater independence and participation within the school environment.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Michigan
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to effectively support educators, administrators, and families
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt interventions for a range of abilities and needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and district guidelines
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention strategies targeting fine motor, sensory processing, life skills, and adaptive behaviors
- Maintain accurate records, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and other support staff to integrate therapeutic activities into the classroom
- Provide training and resources to school staff and families to support students’ ongoing development
