This full-time, on-site, contract position serves students ages 3–21, leveraging your expertise to create positive change. Work within a thoughtfully assigned region, minimizing commute times by focusing on 6-7 schools close to your ZIP code—you’ll use the district office as your home base when needed.
Experience meaningful engagement through direct services and consultations, with a typical direct caseload of around 30-40 students, while the overall caseload, emphasizing consultations, stays near 70. Schedules vary to maximize efficiency and impact, and you’ll participate in evaluations and ARD meetings as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Texas
- Successful completion of state-required fingerprinting/background check
- Previous experience in schools or with pediatric populations strongly preferred
- Strong documentation skills; familiarity with SHARES/Onward helpful
- Ability to self-manage caseload and scheduling
- COTA candidates must demonstrate extensive, relevant school or pediatric experience
- Must confirm no prior employment with, or termination from, the specified district
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop/support individualized programs for a diverse caseload
- Deliver both direct treatment and consultative services
- Maintain thorough records using district software and Excel logs
- Travel efficiently between schools within your assigned area
- Collaborate closely with educators and families
