Key Requirements:
- Active Occupational Therapy (OT) license for the state of Alaska
- TYPE C Certification is required
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting is strongly preferred
- AK-Certified candidates are highly desired
- Ability to manage approximately 1,000 minutes of direct student contact per week (about 16 hours), balanced within a 37.5-hour weekly schedule
- Commitment to working onsite, as remote or virtual services will not be considered at this early stage
- Demonstrated skill in supporting a diverse student population with therapeutic interventions to encourage academic and personal growth
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, in-person occupational therapy services to students as part of their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with school staff, special education teams, and families to develop, implement, and monitor effective therapy plans
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
- Adapt therapy approaches to address varying developmental, sensory, and fine motor needs across multiple grade levels
- Engage in regular communication with stakeholders to promote best outcomes for students
