What You’ll Need:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license for Alaska
- TYPE C Certification required
- Preferably AK-Certified candidates, though strong applicants willing to obtain certification may be considered
- Strong knowledge of school-based OT practices
- Ability to manage and prioritize a busy caseload with professionalism and care
- Collaborative spirit to work alongside teachers, staff, and families
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, in-person OT services to students according to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain approximately 1,000 minutes of student contact per week (about 16 hours)
- Assess students’ needs, create therapeutic intervention plans, and track progress
- Work closely with educators and multidisciplinary teams to promote students’ academic and functional success
- Engage families and caregivers in support strategies and goal updates
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and school district policies
