What you bring:
- Current and valid Virginia Occupational Therapy certification and license (VA OT cert/license required)
- Graduate degree from an accredited OT program
- Previous school-based experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt to different caseloads and needs as vacancies arise
- Commitment to fostering student growth and classroom inclusion
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive OT services to students ranging from early childhood to high school, with specific caseloads determined by location and need
- Evaluate and treat students with diverse physical, sensory, or developmental challenges affecting learning and school participation
- Develop and implement IEPs and therapy plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain thorough records of assessments, interventions, and student progress
- Consult and train staff, caregivers, and teachers on strategies that facilitate student success and independence within the educational setting
Assignments span the typical school day (7.33 hours a day, Monday through Friday), following the academic calendar. This flexibility allows you to integrate into multiple supportive school cultures while making a difference across several communities.
