Ideal candidates will possess:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience in school settings, home health, or healthcare environments
- Strong ability to adapt interventions to support students in both individual and group sessions
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, support teams, and families
- A commitment to fostering student growth and advocating for accessible learning opportunities
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEP-related therapy goals
- Ability to travel between sites as required
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating students’ motor, sensory, and functional abilities to create tailored therapy plans
- Delivering direct occupational therapy services in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Consulting with teachers and staff on classroom strategies to support occupational development
- Maintaining detailed records and contributing to team meetings for student progress updates
- Educating families and caregivers on strategies to encourage skill development at home
- Adjusting therapy approaches to align with academic schedules and school policies
- Supporting transitions for students across educational settings or grade levels
