As the onsite Occupational Therapist, you will provide in-person services for a caseload of approximately 20 students over a 60-day assignment, working 7.5 hours each day. The school’s fluctuating student population means you’ll enjoy a variety of challenges and the chance to adapt your expertise to meet unique needs as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience with school-based OT preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to adapt care strategies for changing caseloads
- Understanding of IEP processes and special education services
- Collaborative spirit and comfort working with multidisciplinary educational teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver therapy sessions aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Consult with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support each student’s progress
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and service reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide strategies for classroom modification and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Monitor caseload and adjust plans as necessary due to mobility and enrollment changes
