Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist serving students in a supportive school environment near Ypsilanti, MI. Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Michigan (OTR/L)
- Previous experience working in school-based settings is highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt therapeutic activities to meet diverse student needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized intervention plans for students requiring occupational therapy
- Collaborate closely with educators, families, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into students’ educational programs
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on activities that enhance fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and school participation
- Offer guidance to school staff on adaptations and accommodations to support student success in the classroom setting
