Skilled Nursing Facility Occupational Therapist | Auburn, Washington
Step into a rewarding role supporting student growth and independence as an Occupational Therapist within a dynamic school setting near Auburn, WA. In this contract position, you’ll make a meaningful difference in the lives of students across two welcoming campuses: Rainier Middle School (three days/week) and Lea Hill Elementary (two days/week). Your expertise will positively impact a caseload of approximately 41 students, working collaboratively with educators, families, and fellow specialists.
This assignment runs from September 9th through the end of the school year, with a required half-day training to set you up for success the week before classes begin. The schedule is Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours weekly, offering ample opportunity to build relationships and see your students progress.
What you’ll bring:
• Washington state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience in school-based, home health, skilled nursing, or healthcare OT roles
• Passion for supporting students with diverse needs in educational environments
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Collaborative approach with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering independence and functional skill development in students
• Adaptability and flexibility to serve across two school sites
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Assessing students’ needs and developing individualized therapy plans
• Delivering direct therapy services and supporting classroom integration
• Monitoring progress and maintaining detailed documentation
• Consulting with teachers and parents to create optimal learning environments
• Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student-centered goals
• Providing in-service training as needed to staff and families
