Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current certification and state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Prior experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families
- Proactive and positive approach to supporting diverse learners
- Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and educational environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support the development and implementation of therapeutic activities tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, educators, and other team members to ensure cohesive, student-focused care
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Engage students with creative approaches that foster independence and participation in school activities
