Desired Skills & Experience:
- Active COTA certification and applicable state licensure (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Prior experience in a school-based setting preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and organizational abilities for working with students, teachers, and families
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapting activities for diverse student needs
- Passion for helping children develop independence and achieve their goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and special education staff to deliver direct therapy services to students
- Implement therapeutic activities and adapt classroom tasks to support students’ fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills
- Track and document student progress, contributing to meetings and reports as required
- Encourage student participation and growth through creative interventions and positive reinforcement
- Assist with the creation and preparation of therapy materials and workspaces
