Key Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant training program
- Valid Illinois COTA license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Experience working with pediatrics or in school-based settings preferred
- Ability to implement and monitor therapy goals as outlined in students’ IEPs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with classroom and special education teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to elementary students onsite, 3–4 days per week (21–28 hours)
- Adapt therapy strategies to individual needs, promoting independence in daily school activities and routines
- Foster meaningful participation and skill development for students in self-contained autism programs
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education professionals, and families to support students’ IEP objectives
- Document services, progress, and outcomes in compliance with program and regulatory requirements
