Role Highlights:
- Provide occupational therapy services to elementary school students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with special education staff and classroom teams to enhance student access, engagement, and independence
- Focus on supporting functional skills that foster classroom participation for students in self-contained programs
- Manage a consistent caseload, fostering ongoing growth and progress for each student
Desired Background:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Holds or is eligible for Illinois COTA licensure/certification
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy preferred
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with educators, therapists, and families
- Ability to adapt interventions and strategies to meet diverse student needs
