Key Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Certification or eligibility for certification from the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Valid State of Illinois Occupational Therapist License required
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based settings strongly preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Support student access and participation within self-contained autism programs
- Collaborate with educators, special education staff, and families to ensure student progress
- Document interventions and maintain accurate records in accordance with school guidelines
- Provide consultation to staff regarding adaptive techniques, equipment, and individualized strategies
Additional Details:
- Contract spanning from August 17 (or as soon as possible) through September 28
- Work schedule of 21–28 hours per week, spread across three to four days each week
- Onsite at a single elementary school location
