Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Arvin, CA

This is an excellent chance for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to helping students reach their full potential. The assignment begins as soon as possible and is expected to run through March, with the possibility of extension depending on ongoing medical leave coverage.
In this role, you'll make a meaningful impact across multiple campuses, working with students presenting a wide range of abilities and challenges. Enjoy the variety of supporting 5 to 8 sites within a month, providing vital assistance to staff and directly influencing student success.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Valid COTA certification and active license to practice in California
- Previous experience, especially in school settings or with special education populations, strongly preferred
- Ability to handle a flexible caseload, adapting quickly to students with mild to severe needs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, therapists, and families
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between multiple sites
- Organizational skills to effectively manage documentation and scheduling across locations
Key responsibilities:
- Assist occupational therapists in implementing interventions tailored to IEP goals
- Support students individually and in groups to promote independence in daily tasks
- Document progress, observations, and assist with treatment planning
- Adapt materials and activities to support a diverse range of learning and physical abilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across different school sites to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a positive, encouraging environment for students of all ages
