Ideal Experience & Skills:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credentials required
- Experience working with school-aged children is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teachers, therapists, and families
- Ability to follow treatment plans designed by Occupational Therapists
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet students’ changing needs in a school environment
- Familiarity with IEP documentation and the educational sector is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapy sessions under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, supporting students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional skills
- Implement goals and activities to help students succeed academically and socially
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify classroom environments or assignments for accessibility
- Document student progress and responses to interventions accurately
- Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and ongoing professional development
- Adjust techniques and interventions as needed to address each student's unique challenges
