Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Active license to practice in Maryland
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly desirable
- Ability to implement and adapt treatment plans under supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to partner with students, families, and school personnel
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in small groups or one-on-one, as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Support students in developing or improving the skills needed for academic participation and daily living within the school environment
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of therapy materials and equipment
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to carry out tailored interventions and adaptations to classroom activities
- Participate in meetings, parent conferences, and team discussions as required
