Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain)
- Graduation from an accredited COTA program
- Previous school-based experience is preferred, though strong new graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to adapt and respond flexibly to diverse caseloads and evolving student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions as outlined in student IEPs under the supervision of an OT
- Assist students in developing or regaining daily living, sensory, and fine motor skills
- Document student progress and collaborate on IEP teams
- Consult with teachers and families to support carryover of skills in classroom and home settings
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and district in-services as needed
