Key Qualifications:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure in New Mexico
- Experience in school-based settings or strong interest in working with pediatric populations
- Strong communication and documentation skills for clear, effective report writing
- Ability to collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school professionals
- Flexibility and adaptability as an itinerant provider serving various campus locations
- Positive, student-centered approach with a commitment to fostering independence and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEPs and school guidelines
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to assess student needs and develop intervention strategies
- Travel between school sites as needed to provide timely, responsive service
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in report writing and data collection
- Communicate progress and recommendations effectively to staff and families
- Support classroom staff with training, resources, and recommendations for inclusive practices
