Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Eligibility to obtain or already hold both NM RLD and NMPED licenses
- Prior experience within school-based settings (elementary and/or middle school preferred)
- Proficiency in therapeutic techniques tailored to student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities for working with educators, families, and students
- Adaptability and organizational skills to manage a caseload of approximately 40-50 students
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to support students’ participation, independence, and engagement in school activities
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess students' skills and craft targeted treatment plans that address a range of developmental and functional areas
- Keep accurate records of student progress and document treatment sessions in compliance with school and state requirements
- Provide guidance and training to staff and families to facilitate students’ success across school environments
