As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you’ll work directly with elementary students—with occasional middle and high school involvement—partnering with passionate professionals to deliver meaningful interventions that help every child achieve their best.
In this full-time, contract position, your expertise is critical in fostering independence and improving daily living skills for students with varied needs. You’ll join a supportive team where innovative ideas and clinical expertise are valued as you deliver therapy both one-on-one and in small groups.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- License to practice as a COTA in Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to support a diverse caseload, including elementary with possible middle/high school students
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement therapy plans developed in coordination with the Occupational Therapist
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary staff to support student goals
- Provide targeted interventions to enhance students’ fine motor, sensory processing, and functional skills
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school protocols
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
