Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience in a school-based role preferred
- Familiarity with K-12 caseloads and a variety of support needs
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both in-person and virtual colleagues
- Valid licensure in Virginia or eligibility for state licensing
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted occupational therapy interventions and supports, following student IEPs and care plans
- Collaborate with virtual OTs on treatment plans, progress monitoring, and documentation
- Assist students in developing essential skills for school participation, focusing on fine motor, sensory, and adaptive functioning
- Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and parent communications as appropriate
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school protocols
