Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant credentials, current and in good standing
- Previous experience in a school setting, ideally at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of best practices for working with behaviors and supporting academic development
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability to meet diverse student needs and willingness to apply creative interventions
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and track student progress
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students, as outlined in their IEPs
- Support students with behavioral and academic needs, using evidence-based strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to facilitate inclusive learning environments
- Assist with assessments and implement treatment plans designed by a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Document progress, maintain records, and contribute to IEP meetings when appropriate
- Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that helps students thrive
